Intel Compute Stick

The Intel Compute Stick comes in 2 versions currently. The Windows 8.1 version and the Linux version of the Intel Compute Stick. This post will give you a little more detail.

The Linux version of the Intel Compute Stick has a part number of BOXSTCK1A8LFCCR

The Intel Compute Stick for Linux has similar specs to the Windows version except you only get 1GB of memory due to the fact that Linux is less memory intensive. You also only get 8Gb of flash storage version 32GB on the Windows version. For only $10 more you can get more memory and more storage by buying the Windows version.

I personally would skip the Linux version and purchase the Windows version and if I needed to run something in Linux, I could install a copy via Vmware and have a virtual copy of Linux.

As time goes on, I am sure there will be people who will release guides on how to dual boot both Windows and Linux on the Intel Compute Stick.
